    ABOUT HIERAPOLIS & PAMUKKALE

Why did we name our product after this antique city? Many historical artifacts belonging to the Paleolithic Age, Polished Stone Age, Bronze Age, Iron Age, Antiquity, Middle Ages, New Age, and Modern Age periods can be seen throughout Turkey.

Turkey is home to many ancient cities. Because the "Turkish Towel" has become a world-famous product, by naming our products with the names of Turkey's historical values, we want to promote making these historical monuments known to many people.

Hierapolis (/ˌhaɪəˈræpəlɪs/; lit. "Holy City") was an ancient Greek city located on hot springs in classical Phrygia in southwestern Anatolia. Its ruins are adjacent to modern Pamukkale in Turkey and currently comprise an archaeological museum. The site has the Tomb of Philip the Apostle.

The hot springs have been used as a spa since the 2nd century BC, with many patrons retiring or dying there. The large necropolis is filled with sarcophagi, most famously that of Marcus Aurelius Ammianos, which bears a relief depicting the earliest known example of a crank and rod mechanism. The great baths were constructed with huge stone blocks without the use of cement and consisted of various closed or open sections linked together. There are deep niches in the inner section, including the bath, library, and gymnasium.

Pamukkale, meaning "cotton castle" in Turkish, is a natural site in Denizli Province in southwestern Turkey, which is also the main center of Turkish Towels', Peshtemals' manufacturing. The area is famous for a carbonate mineral left by the flowing of thermal spring water.

There are well-preserved Roman ruins and a museum on site. A small footpath runs up the mountain face for visitors to use, however, the travertine terraces are all off-limits, having suffered damage, erosion, and water pollution due to tourism.

It was added as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988 with Hierapolis.
