ABOUT LETOON (ancient city in Turkey)

Why did we name our product after this antique city? Many historical artifacts belonging to the Paleolithic Age, Polished Stone Age, Bronze Age, Iron Age, Antiquity, Middle Ages, New Age, and Modern Age periods can be seen throughout Turkey.

Turkey is home to many ancient cities. Because the "Turkish Towel" has become a world-famous product, by naming our products with the names of Turkey's historical values, we want to promote making these historical monuments known to many people.

 

The Letoon (Ancient Greek: Λητῶον), sometimes Latinized as Letoum, was a sanctuary of Leto near the ancient city Xanthos in Lycia. It was one of the most important religious centers in the region. The site is located south of the village Kumluova in the Fethiye district of Muğla Province, Turkey. It lies approximately four kilometers south of Xanthos along the Xanthos River.

It was added as a UNESCO World Heritage Site along with Xanthos in 1988.
