Lycia Myra is a wholesale dobby peshtemal manufactured from 100% Turkish cotton in Denizli, Turkey. The body is woven with small diamond patterns throughout. Near each short edge, approximately nine diamond-widths inward, the colored weft transitions to natural (undyed) cotton — creating a natural-toned band where the diamond pattern continues but in a subtle cream tone. The colored weft then resumes across the main body. When the towel is folded in half from the center, the two natural bands align symmetrically. A single weft color is used throughout the body.

FEATURES

  • Dimensions (unwashed): 100 × 180 cm (39.37 × 70.87 in)
  • Dimensions after pre-wash (estimated): ~90 × ~170 cm (~35.43 × ~66.93 in)
  • Weight: ~430 gr. (~15.17 oz)
  • Material: 100% Turkish cotton
  • Weave: Dobby (diamond pattern)
  • Certification: OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified yarn
  • Warp: natural (undyed) cotton
  • Pre-washed by default — sizing removed, pre-shrunk (~10%), absorbency improved. Unwashed available on request at slightly lower cost.

Please note: slight variations in size and weight may occur due to the nature of the weaving process.

COLOR OPTIONS

The Lycia Myra is woven with a single weft color on a natural (undyed) warp. The weft color defines the diamond pattern across the main body. Near both short edges, a natural-weft band (approximately nine diamond-widths wide) interrupts the color — the diamond weave continues in this band, but in a cream tone. The colored pattern resumes toward the center of the towel.

ABOUT MYRA

We name our products after Turkey's historical landmarks to share these places with the world through trade.

Myra (Ancient Greek: Μύρα) was an ancient city in Lycia, corresponding to the modern town of Demre (formerly Kale) in present-day Antalya Province, Turkey. It was one of the largest and most influential cities of the Lycian League. Founded on the river Myros (modern Demre Çay), Myra was a major center of Greek, then Roman, and later Byzantine civilization. Its citizens worshiped Artemis Eleutheria as the city's protective goddess; Zeus, Athena, and Tyche were venerated as well. Pliny the Elder records that Myra held the spring of Apollo called Curium. Saint Nicholas — born in nearby Patara — served as bishop of Myra in the 4th century AD and is buried there. (Source: Wikipedia)
