ABOUT PEDASA
Why did we name our product after this antique city? Many historical artifacts are belonging to the Paleolithic Age, Polished Stone Age, Bronze Age, Iron Age, Antiquity, Middle Ages, New Age, and Modern Age periods can be seen throughout Turkey.
Turkey is home to many ancient cities. Because the "Turkish Towel" has become a world-famous product, by naming our products with the names of Turkey's historical values, we want to promote making these historical monuments known to many people.
Located in Konacik, Pedasa was once a great ancient city and has now developed as a popular spot for tourists. There are various guided walking tours that unleash the hidden secrets of this antique city.
Pedasa was known for its fierce resistance against the Persians and Alexander the Great. The city was most flourishing between the 11th to 6th centuries BC. It was re-founded as Konacik village. Historians claim that Pedasa was one of the major cities in the area for sea trade. Pedasa was also famous for its delectable range of wines and there are a few vineyards that can still be observed. The inner castle is a must-visit. Recently, excavations led to the finding of jewelry and historical relics on the site of the royal tomb dating back to 3000 years. (Source: TripHobo)
