Philadelphia is a wholesale herringbone peshtemal manufactured from 100% Turkish cotton in Denizli, Turkey. The body is woven in a classic herringbone (balıksırtı) pattern throughout. Near each short edge, the colored weft transitions to natural (undyed) cotton, creating a wide cream-toned band. The herringbone structure continues in this band, but rendered in a natural tone. When the towel is folded in half from the center, the two natural bands align symmetrically. A single weft color is used throughout the body.

FEATURES

  • Dimensions (unwashed): 100 × 180 cm (39.37 × 70.87 in)
  • Dimensions after pre-wash (estimated): ~90 × ~170 cm (~35.43 × ~66.93 in)
  • Weight: ~430 gr. (~15.17 oz)
  • Material: 100% Turkish cotton
  • Weave: Herringbone
  • Certification: OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified yarn
  • Warp: natural (undyed) cotton
  • Pre-washed by default — sizing removed, pre-shrunk (~10%), absorbency improved. Unwashed available on request at slightly lower cost.

Please note: slight variations in size and weight may occur due to the nature of the weaving process.

COLOR OPTIONS

The Philadelphia is woven with a single weft color on a natural (undyed) warp. The weft color defines the herringbone pattern across the main body. Near both short edges, the weft transitions to natural cotton, creating a wide cream-toned band where the herringbone pattern continues in a subtle natural tone.

ABOUT PHILADELPHIA

We name our products after Turkey's historical landmarks to share these places with the world through trade.

Philadelphia — today known as Alaşehir — is a town in Manisa Province, in the Aegean region of Turkey. It was founded in 189 BC by King Eumenes II of Pergamon and named for his brother Attalus II, whose loyalty earned him the nickname "Philadelphos" (Ancient Greek: φιλάδελφος, "one who loves his brother"). The city remained a major center of Greek, Roman, and Byzantine civilization and is listed among the seven churches of Asia in the Book of Revelation. It remained a strong center of Orthodox Christianity until the early 20th century and continues to be a titular see of the Roman Catholic Church. (Source: Wikipedia)
