Tralles Turkish Towel Peshtemal — Two-Color Stripe Design

The Tralles peshtemal is built on a two-color stripe composition. Near both short edges — symmetric when folded in half — Color 1 appears as narrower stripes alternating with white. Across the wider center body, Color 2 runs as broader bands also alternating with white. The shift from edge color to body color gives the towel a structured, deliberate appearance that holds up well in hotel, spa, and retail contexts. Woven in 100% Turkish cotton at our Denizli factory with OEKO-TEX certified yarns.

COLOR OPTIONS:

The Tralles pattern uses two independently specified weft colors:

• Color 1 — narrower stripes near both short edges (symmetric when the towel is folded in half)
• Color 2 — wider bands across the center body

Both appear alongside white stripes by default. 10 stock color combinations are available:

Beyond these, buyers can specify any Color 1 and Color 2 from our color chart. Setting both colors to the same shade produces a single-color version where the varying stripe widths carry the design. The white can also be replaced with a third palette color for a fully custom three-color combination.

HOW TO ORDER:

The Tralles is sold wholesale via request for quotation (RFQ). Use the Request a Quote button to submit your Color 1, Color 2, stripe background color (if not white), quantity, and pre-wash preference. Standard minimum is 300 pieces per color combination; other quantities can be discussed in your quote request. Manufacturing lead time is 2–6 weeks from order confirmation, depending on current loom availability.

ABOUT TRALLES:

Known today as Aydın, the ancient city of Tralles (Latin) or Tralleis (Greek: Τράλλεις) was one of the largest Aegean cities in antiquity. It bore several names across the centuries — Anthea and Euanthia in early Greek sources, Antiochia under the Seleucids, and Güzelhisar in the early Ottoman period. That Ottoman name traveled far into European trade vocabulary, appearing as Joselassar and even Joseph Lasat, used to describe a fine grade of cotton produced in this very region — one of the earliest recorded links between this land and the global cotton trade. Several centuries later, Anthemius of Tralles — architect of the Hagia Sophia in Constantinople — was born here.
