    ABOUT ETENNA

Why did we name our product after this antique city? Many historical artifacts belonging to the Paleolithic Age, Polished Stone Age, Bronze Age, Iron Age, Antiquity, Middle Ages, New Age, and Modern Age periods can be seen throughout Turkey.

Turkey is home to many ancient cities. Because the "Turkish Towel" has become a world-famous product, by naming our products with the names of Turkey's historical values, we want to promote making these historical monuments known to many people.

Etenna (Ancient Greek: Ἔτεννα) was a city in the late Roman province of Pamphylia Prima. Centuries earlier, it was reckoned as belonging to Pisidia, by Polybius, who wrote that in 218 BC the people of Etenna "who live in the highlands of Pisidia above Side" provided 8000 hoplites to assist the Seleucid usurper Achaeus.

The Ancient City of Etenna is located in Antalya Province, Manavgat District, in Sırtköy Neighborhood. In the ancient city of Etenna, which is located 31 km from Manavgat and 900 meters above the sea, the first thing that draws attention among the ancient ruins among the pine forests is the city walls surrounding the city. Rather than Pamphylia, the ruins have the characteristics of a Pisidian city compared to other coastal ancient cities. This acropolis city is named "Dedekalesi" by the local people. Hereon, basilica, agora, church, bath, rock tombs, and cisterns are important ruins of the city. Although there is not much information about the history of the city, it is thought that it shares the same history and fate with other acropolis cities in the vicinity. Etenna is the Pisidian city that minted coins after Selge. The Ancient City of Etenna can be visited free of charge at any time of the year, without any day and hour restrictions; nature walks can be made in the ancient city and its surroundings.
